Real Estate Agents Survive 'The Walking Dead'

They Survive Zombies to Charge us More Money

Well, at least the property market is less alive. See what I did there? Well, personally I can't wait for this... I already own a ton of Monopoly games and now, Skybound have announced Monopoly and Risk games based on The Walking Dead! I NEED THESE! So, Skybound is the company who publishes The Walking Dead comic book series, which has been #1 in sales for the past two years, are working with USAopoly to bring you these amazing games, this really is SHIT THE BED! news.

"We're extremely excited to be working with USAopoly and Robert Kirkman's Skybound imprint at Image Comics in what promises to be two great games that are destined to be bestsellers for retailers," said Bill Schanes, Diamond's VP-Purchasing.

Despite the lack of competition on the property market, some new mechanics have been added to Monopoly to make it more suitable to the post-apocalyptic setting. Players must contend for the best real estate, and I'm guessing Woodbury and The Prison will be included, and then must fortify their real estate while gaining supplies to outlast all other survivors. The game features six collectible tokens, an optional speed play and a final fight for victory. At least we'll have more interesting tokens than a fucking Top Hat that can be arrested.

The Risk game has incorporated some changes in preparation for this new twist, including a new map based only in the southeast region of the USA, it was already pretty obviously going to be set in Georgia and the surrounding area without that hint. The gameplay will be a free-for-all, in which players fend for themselves, fighting off hordes of the undead (no surprises there then) while also battling it out with your fellow players. A new deck of 'Supply Cards' will add new mechanics, and strategy to the mix, and just like the new Monopoly twist, last man or woman standing wins.

These two twists on classic games will be exclusively available from Diamond Comic Distributors, and both are offered for pre-order in Diamond's April PREVIEWS Catalog which hits comic book stores today, March 28th. Retailers interested in purchasing the games are encouraged to contact Diamond's New Accounts Department at newaccounts@diamondcomics.com OR by phone at 800-45-COMIC.

MONOPOLY: The Walking Dead Survival Edition (Diamond Item Code:APR132229: SRP: $39.99)

RISK: The Walking Dead Survival Edition (Diamond Item Code:APR132230:SRP: $49.99)

These games hit shelves in September 2013, and upon release I will be posting a review, but until then, I'm going to satisfy my need for zombies with The Walking Dead Season Finale and Survival Instinct. Stay tuned for more updates :D and please comment. I have stopped with the 13 spaces because it was wrecking my formatting :(
